What are the responsibilities and job description for the Panel Wiring Tech (Assoc Degree Required, EET Pref.) position at APP Engineering, Inc.?
Position: Entry Level Technician / Manufacturing
Education:
The candidate will possess an associate degree or higher in EET or similar.
Starting - Major Duties:
- Mechanical and electrical construction of panels used in transmission line substation and power plants.
- Mechanical and electrical construction of chassis used in power recording equipment
- Possible Circuit board populating or wire soldering
- General manufacturing work
- Assist with packing and shipping.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Other:
- Experience using hand tools such as drills, taps, scales, soldering irons.
- Understanding basic electronic circuit theory and the ability to read electrical schematics.
- Additional experience as an electrical helper, electrical apprentice, electrical maintenance, or mechanic/technician is a plus.
- Experience as a maintenance technician, construction worker/laborer, or general laborer with trades background may also be considered.
- Basic soldering.
- Understanding of point-to-point wiring diagrams and basic mechanical drawings.
- Understanding of Windows operating systems.
- Experience in the power engineering or electric utility industry is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills is a must.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office products
- Excellent work ethic with proven ability to self-direct and motivate.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Sit/stand for extended periods.
- Lift 20–25 lbs.
- Electronics manufacturing environment.
Work Schedule
7:30 am to 4:00 pm; overtime as needed.
Flexibility in work hours may be possible for someone needing additional courses towards their AS or BS degree.
