Responsibilities
- Safely operate a front loader truck, dump truck, grader, and other heavy equipment to transport materials between construction sites.
- Perform manual handling of construction materials using hand tools and power tools, ensuring precise placement and safety.
- Conduct routine inspections of heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, and Caterpillar equipment to maintain optimal performance.
- Assist in paving operations, highway maintenance, and road construction activities by supporting equipment operation and material delivery.
- Implement traffic control measures in work zones to ensure safety for crew members and the traveling public.
- Locate utilities accurately on job sites to prevent damage during excavation or construction activities.
- Follow all safety protocols diligently, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), heavy lifting techniques, and adherence to OSHA standards.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks.
- Demonstrated knowledge of FMCSA regulations governing commercial vehicle operation and safety compliance.
- Hands-on experience working on civil infrastructure projects like roadways, highways, or utility installations.
- Familiarity with welding, utility locating, and the use of hand tools for maintenance or repair tasks.
