Vice President – Quantitative Analytics (Liquid Financing Prime)
Location: New York, Manhattan, with 3 days in office
Our client, a leading global investment bank, is seeking a Vice President to join its Liquid Financing Prime team. This is a front-office role supporting Equity Finance and Delta One trading desks, focused on delivering analytics, enhancing risk management, and driving revenue opportunities.
Role overview
The successful candidate will develop and implement quantitative models and tools used directly by the trading desks. The role sits across trading, risk, and technology, with a focus on improving decision-making, optimising balance sheet usage, and identifying new opportunities. There is also a growing emphasis on leveraging AI and machine learning techniques to enhance modelling, automation, and analytics workflows.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement quantitative models for pricing, trading strategies, and risk management
- Analyse market data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and trading opportunities
- Build and maintain analytics tools used by front-office desks
- Apply data science and machine learning techniques where appropriate to improve models and processes
- Work closely with traders and sales teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Maintain and enhance existing analytics libraries and infrastructure
- Contribute to the adoption of modern development practices, including AI-assisted coding and automation
- Collaborate with teams across trading, risk, and technology
Vice President responsibilities
- Take ownership of projects and deliver end-to-end solutions
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members
- Work closely with stakeholders across the front office
- Contribute to strategic initiatives and continuous improvements
- Ensure appropriate consideration of risk and controls in all deliverables
Required experience
- Experience with equity products and derivatives, including swaps, futures, and options
- Strong mathematical background, including calculus and linear algebra
- Experience with cross-platform / cross-technology development (Windows/Linux), CI/CD, workflow automation (AWS, Kubernetes), and databases
- Experience applying data analysis and/or machine learning techniques
- Strong Python programming skills, including object-oriented design
- Familiarity with AI tools or AI-assisted development approaches
- Proven ability to deliver across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics clearly
- Experience working on Equity Financing or Delta One desks
- Knowledge of products such as repo, margin loans, and equity swaps
- Exposure to optimisation techniques (e.g. linear programming)
- Experience with modern development environments and tooling (e.g. cloud, CI/CD)
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Jupyter or Dash
Salary : $150,000 - $230,000
