About the Role:
Apollo Security Group is seeking professional School Security Officers to join our team in the Gwinnett County School System (Georgia). This is an opportunity to make a positive impact by helping create and maintain a safe learning environment for students, staff, faculty, and the surrounding community.
We’re looking for dependable individuals who value professionalism—showing strong communication skills, a sharp appearance, and the ability to remain calm, attentive, and approachable while supporting a safe school atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor the Evolv security system at the main school entrance.
- Maintain a professional and visible presence in the entrance area to ensure safety and order.
- Greet and observe individuals entering the school, ensuring compliance with security procedures.
- Ensure all alerts identified by the Evolv system are addressed and processed in accordance with school administrators’ expectations.
- Identify and respond promptly to unauthorized activity, disturbances, or safety concerns in the immediate entrance area.
- Collaborate with school administrators, faculty, and local law enforcement when necessary.
- Maintain accurate logs and complete incident reports as required.
- Provide excellent customer service while ensuring the safety of students, staff, and visitors.
- MUST be willing to fill in post where needed in any event, coverage is needed.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Georgia 24-Hour Security Licensing course (MANDATORY).
- Must divulge ANY law enforcement encounters.
- Prior experience in security, military, corrections, or law enforcement preferred.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive under pressure.
- Strong communication and observation skills.
- Dependable with a proven attendance record.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Comfortable working in a school environment around children and staff.
