Overview

This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced Oracle Cloud Fusion Financials Configuration Specialist who thrives in complex, global environments and enjoys owning end-to-end system configuration.
In this role, you will act as a senior individual contributor and subject matter expert, responsible for configuring, governing, and optimizing Oracle Cloud Fusion Financials as the organization transitions from Oracle E-Business Suite to Oracle Cloud. You will partner closely with Finance leaders, IT application teams, integration resources, and external consulting partners to ensure scalable, compliant, and best-practice system configurations.
Key Responsibilities
Oracle Cloud Financials Configuration & Governance
- Own and manage Oracle Cloud Fusion Financials configuration across Dev, Test, Stage, and Production environments
- Lead configuration activities using Configuration Workbooks and the Configuration Snapshot tool
- Serve as the primary configuration authority, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with business and control requirements
Financial Process Coverage
Support and maintain configurations across core end-to-end finance processes, including:
- Record to Report
- Order to Cash
- Requisition to Pay
- Acquire to Retire
- Plan to Perform
- Projects to Result
Migration & Optimization
- Manage configuration migration activities, including snapshot creation, comparison, validation, and deployment
- Support Oracle Cloud Fusion architecture during and after migration from Oracle E-Business Suite
- Identify opportunities to simplify configurations, reduce customization, and align with Oracle Cloud best practices
Collaboration & Support
- Translate business requirements into scalable, supportable Oracle Fusion Financials configurations
- Partner with Finance, IT, and integration teams to assess configuration dependencies and downstream impacts
- Participate in design reviews, configuration walkthroughs, testing cycles, and production support
- Support go-live readiness, cutover activities, and post-production stabilization
- Stay current on Oracle Cloud Financials quarterly updates and recommend feature adoption as appropriate
Documentation & Compliance
- Develop and maintain comprehensive configuration documentation, including:
- Configuration Workbooks
- Configuration Snapshot inventories and deployment records
- Current-state and future-state setup documentation
- Process and configuration impact assessments
- Ensure configurations align with SOX controls, audit standards, and internal governance policies
- Clearly communicate configuration changes and impacts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support knowledge transfer from implementation partners and help drive long-term internal self-sufficiency
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance Systems, or a related field
- 7 years of hands-on Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials experience with a strong focus on configuration
- Proven experience configuring Oracle Fusion Financials in global, multi-ledger, multi-operating unit environments
- Extensive experience with:
- Oracle Fusion Configuration Workbooks
- Configuration Snapshot creation, comparison, and migration
- Strong functional understanding of enterprise Oracle Financials business processes
- Experience supporting or participating in Oracle EBS to Oracle Cloud Fusion migrations
- Hands-on knowledge of Financials setup components, including ledgers, chart of accounts, calendars, currencies, tax, intercompany, approvals, and security
- Experience working in SOX-controlled environments and with internal audit teams
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across business and IT organizations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred
- Oracle Cloud Financials certifications
- Experience working with external implementation partners or consulting firms
