Summary:
The Physical Therapy Assistant (“PTA”) provides physical therapy services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. The PTA works as a collaborative member of a patient’s care team, working across the internal interdisciplinary care team, physicians, and other stakeholders in our patient’s care.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the physical therapist in following physical therapy care plans.
- Prepares clinical and progress notes and helps develop the treatment plan (revising as necessary).
- Performing PT services in line with the care plan and physician orders.
- Consult with the physical therapist regarding changes in treatment.
- Instruct patients and caregivers on in-home programs and activities of daily living.
- Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences to contribute to patient updates, discharge planning, etc.
- Advises and consults with agency personnel and patient family / caregivers.
- Confirms on a weekly basis the scheduling of visits with the supervising physical therapist, care team, office staff, etc.
