Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Warehouse Worker/ Non CDL Driver
Wage: $22-$26 / hour
Duties and Responsibilities
- Driving, loading, and unloading trailers
- Driving fabricated material and tools between jobsites
- Basic vehicle maintenance
- General shop cleanup and organization
- Plans and completes an efficient delivery and pick up route for the day
- Loads delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery
- Picks up parcels along the scheduled route, including items to be returned, company orders, and other items as requested
- Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor
- Assists in general warehouse duties when delivery route is completed
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Maintains records of goods that have been ordered and corresponding shipping dates.
- Reports major shipping problems to purchasing agent
- Inspects shipments to confirm that products received meet specifications
- Maintains business relationships with suppliers to ensure their assistance if an unexpected event requires expedited shipping of an order
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to drive large trucks
- Ability to pull 20’ trailers
- Ability to move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodation
- Available to consistently work a 40-hour week with frequent overtime
- Willing to learn
- Ability to drive safely
- Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps
- Ability to plan delivery routes
- Ability to maintain basic logs and records
- Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision
- Ability to remain professional and courteous at all times
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Education and Experience
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Forklift experience preferred
