Position Summary
The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining the stability, performance, and security of Apollo Mechanical’s server and infrastructure environments. This role proactively monitors systems, manages virtualization platforms, and ensures reliable backup and recovery processes. Working closely with the IT team, the Systems Administrator helps ensure infrastructure is scalable, secure, and aligned with operational needs while supporting ongoing improvements across the environment.

Working closely with the IT team, the Systems Administrator helps ensure infrastructure is scalable, secure, and aligned with operational needs while supporting ongoing improvements across the environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Windows Server environments (2016–2022) including health checks, updates, and troubleshooting in Hyper-V environments
- Administer Hyper-V virtual machines and monitor performance
- Maintain and support SAN storage and failover clustering environments
- Administer on-prem Active Directory including security groups, account management, and resolving authentication/email issues
- Perform SQL Server maintenance including backups, restores, and basic troubleshooting
- Manage backups and recovery using Veeam or similar backup platforms
- Test and validate backup and disaster recovery processes
- Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts to proactively resolve issues
- Maintain documentation for systems, backups, and infrastructure configurations
- 3 years of system administration experience
- Experience with SQL Server maintenance and backups/restores
- Experience with Veeam or similar backup/restore platforms
- Strong experience with Windows Server 2016–2022 and Hyper-V
- Experience with Active Directory and identity management
- Experience with SAN storage and failover clustering
