Position Details
- Job Title: HVAC Service Technician
- Department: Service
- Reports To: Service Manager
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, typically 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (with some evenings and weekends during peak seasons)
- Pay: Hourly, based on experience commission opportunities
Position Summary
As an HVAC Service Technician, you will perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on residential and light commercial HVAC systems. You will also educate homeowners on system performance, needed repairs, and upgrade opportunities—delivering an exceptional experience to every customer, every time.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform seasonal maintenance and service on HVAC systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment
- Present repair and replacement options to customers with confidence and integrity
- Deliver outstanding customer service and build long-term relationships
- Maintain a clean, organized job site and service vehicle
- Accurately complete invoices, timecards, and required documentation
- Follow all safety standards and local codes
- Collaborate with dispatch, team members, and management to ensure efficiency
- Participate in ongoing training, meetings, and vendor education
- Mentor and support team members when needed
Qualifications
- 2 years of HVAC experience with sales experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of residential and light commercial HVAC systems
- Proficiency with furnaces, heat pumps, refrigerant systems, and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of low-voltage systems and system balancing
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Professional appearance and conduct
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and desire to grow
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
