Azure Engineer

Position: Azure Engineer (100% Remote)
Length: 6 month contract with strong extension potential

Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Engineer to support a large‑scale Azure cloud migration and system refresh initiative. This role will play a critical part in designing, building, securing, and supporting Azure infrastructure as the client transitions workloads to the cloud over the next six months.
Must Have

• Eligible to obtain Active Secret Clearance.
• CompTIA Security (required)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and configure Azure infrastructure including Azure Virtual Machines, VNETs, NSGs, storage accounts, Azure Load Balancer, and Azure PaaS services
• Deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and infrastructure automation practices
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Security Center, and Application Insights
• Troubleshoot Azure infrastructure, networking, and platform issues in a production environment
• Support automation and scripting efforts using PowerShell and Bash
• Implement cloud security controls, governance policies, and best practices aligned to federal requirements
• Collaborate with architects, DevOps, and security teams during the cloud migration lifecycle

 
Required Technical Skills

• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure core services
• Strong experience with Azure compute, storage, networking, and PaaS offerings
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation
• Proficiency with PowerShell and/or Bash scripting
• Knowledge of cloud security, identity management, governance, and monitoring
• Experience supporting production cloud environments and troubleshooting complex issues
• Experience supporting or migrating systems to Azure in an enterprise or government environment
