Responsibilities
Leadership / People Management
- Directly supervises a Graphic Specialist & Event Coordinator, including workload planning, task assignment, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Set weekly priorities and ensure the design/event pipeline aligns to corporate communications goals, deadlines, and capacity.
- Provide creative direction, ensure brand compliance, and remove blockers so the role can execute efficiently.
- Collaborate with leadership to implement internal/external marketing, communications, and engagement activities.
- Serve as a authority for company communications and branding; provide guidance on complex messaging, positioning, and stakeholder needs.
- Establish and enforce standards for brand voice, visual identity, accessibility, and quality across deliverables.
- Oversee and contribute to content for social media, press releases, websites, employee newsletter, and print materials.
- Lead planning and production of the bi-monthly employee newsletter (content calendar, drafts, edits, approvals, final production).
- Support the maintenance and development of the Apogee website and any associated joint venture websites (WordPress), including updates and coordination with technical support as needed.
- Support selection and adoption of communication tools and methodologies (e.g., scheduling platforms, asset management, templates, workflows).
- Research, plan, and execute internal/external communications campaigns.
- Lead internal employee engagement communications (charitable activities, campaigns, events) ensuring strong participation and alignment with Apogee culture.
- Create feedback loops with front-line leaders to understand communication needs and translate them into actionable plans.
- Provide direction and approvals for visual communications created by the Graphic Specialist (digital, web, social, print).
- Oversee event communications and branding for conferences, employee events, and internal meetings; ensure consistent experience and post-event evaluation/lessons learned.
- Ensure digital asset management practices are followed (organized libraries, version control, file naming conventions).
Minimum Experience:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Education: Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or related field
Years Of Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 10–12 years of relevant experience; OR
- Master’s degree with 8–10 years of relevant experience.
- Functional experience (required):
- Extensive experience in a corporate marketing/communications environment.
- Strong content development experience (products/services), including writing/editing and stakeholder approvals.
- Social media management experience in a business environment, including Facebook, Facebook Workplace, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Experience guiding or approving design/visual content for print and digital channels (sufficient to direct/QA the Graphic Specialist’s work).
- Tools (required):
- Intermediate to Expert experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop & Illustrator), Canva, WordPress, and social media scheduling/management tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Video development experience (intermediate preferred).
- Experience managing calendars and workflows for a mixed discipline team (communications design events).
- Experience with brand governance programs (templates, toolkits, brand refreshes) and cross-functional stakeholder management.
