Cloud Engineer

Security Clearance:  TS/SCI with Fullscope Polygraph required

Position

Seeking a Cloud Engineer to support an Intelligence Client.

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related programs, with 3 years of experience (or 3 additional years of experience in lieu of degree)
• Demonstrated experience with cloud computing with at least one major commercial cloud provider (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Oracle) with preference for AWS; experience leveraging a background in programming, software tools and packages, operating systems, and networking to solve data processing needs in cloud environments
• Demonstrated proficiency with developing, prototyping and deploying solutions within cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Oracle) leveraging infrastructure platform services including Lambda Functions and Layers, S3, EC2, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, IAM Roles, RDS, EFS, and container services
• Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) (preferred); CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar experience are also useful substitutes
• Demonstrated experience with at least one applicable programming language such as Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java, Go, and C#; Python preferred
• Demonstrated experience working with application developers to identify and implement infrastructure and deployment requirements
• Demonstrated experience with the ability to understand mission application need and convey how a technical solution will deliver mission results
• Demonstrated experience with the ability to listen and transcribe from customer need to technical requirements
• Demonstrated experience with Docker or related container technologies
• Demonstrated experience prioritizing work based on mission need. Demonstrated experience with Linux shell scripting

Desired 

• Demonstrated experience assessing unique network configurations and devising tailored collection solutions for each source to ensure access to data streams
• Demonstrated experience with monitoring collection solutions to ensure data ingest is uninterrupted and ability to diagnose faults and implement remedies to restore collection if data gaps or stoppages occur
• Demonstrated experience with data repositories to ensure data transfer from one platform to another takes place in an automated fashion; interface with users of collected information to ensure data is accessible and in the proper format
• Demonstrated experience with other appliable programming languages besides Python (e.g. TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java, Go, and C#)
• Demonstrated proficiency with multiple cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Oracle)
• Demonstrated experience interacting with customers to coordinate requirements and resolve data questions.
• Demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor’s data handling procedures
• Certifications in Cloud Engineering, such as:
  • Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (CSAA) or equivalent or higher (e.g. solutions architect) from AWS (preferred), Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • CompTIA Cloud

Useful Additional Skills and Experience

• M.S. or PhD in a STEM related major, e.g. a M.S. degree focused in distributed systems
  Experience working with other technical teams across multiple organizational boundaries
  Experience with relational databases, MySQL, NiFi, Kafka, Elastic MapReduce (EMR) Hbase, Elastic, Splunk, Spring
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with Spark
• Experience programming with distributed computing
• Experience with large scale ETL from multiple sources
