Scope
The Machine Operator (Komax) is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Komax wire processing equipment to produce high-quality wire and cable assemblies that meet customer specifications and production requirements. This role performs machine adjustments, quality inspections, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing standards. The Machine Operator also supports continuous improvement initiatives to maximize productivity, minimize downtime, and maintain efficient production operations.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Komax wire processing machines and related production equipment
- Minimum of 6 months of Komax manufacturing machine operation experience preferred
- Minimum - High School degree, GED or prior experience in similar position.
- Experience using computer or programmable machines is preferred.
- Able to lift 50 pounds routinely
- Ability to precisely measure lengths using Imperial and Metric tape measures.
- Ability to measure using calipers.
- Capable of reading and understanding Bills of Materials, Drawings, Production and Quality documents, wire Cut Sheets and verbal instructions.
- Basic understanding of wire sizes and types.
- Capable of distinguishing color differences.
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand basic English language.
- Able to count to 1000 and count bundles of 10.
- Learn and become proficient in working to WHMA-IPC620A standards.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and adjust Komax wire processing equipment, including cutting, stripping, crimping, and terminating machines, in accordance with work orders, engineering drawings, and production specifications.
- Use engineering documentation and manufacturing travelers to determine wire processing requirements and accurately produce components within WHMA IPC-A-620 and customer-defined quality standards.
- Perform machine changeovers, first-piece inspections, in-process quality checks, and final product inspections to ensure compliance with quality, production, and customer requirements.
- Monitor machine performance, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment issues to maximize productivity, minimize downtime, and maintain efficient operations.
- Maintain accurate production, quality, and maintenance records; report equipment malfunctions, material shortages, and inventory discrepancies; and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while adhering to all company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand, sit, and/or walk for up to 8 hours.
- Able to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, and climb.
- Able to push, pull, and lift from up to 30lbs and occasionally 50lbs.
- Able to use hands repetitively for up to 8 hours; grasping, turning, and fine manipulation.
- Able to use a variety of hand tools and operate machinery for up to 8 hours.
- Able to read, write, measure, and distinguish color.
- Able to wear all required Personal Protection Equipment such as safety goggles and closed-toed shoes while on the production floor.

- 100% accuracy of required quantity of cut pieces.
- 100% accuracy of wire selection.
- Produce orders on time within allowed production hours.
- Maintain cleanliness of the Komax machines

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
