Position Overview
The Senior Director, Commercial Analytics reports to the VP of Insights, Analytics & Planning and leads all commercial analytics at Apnimed.
This role is responsible for defining and executing the vision, frameworks, and operating model for Commercial Analytics—supporting data-driven decision-making across Marketing, Sales, and Market Access as we prepare for the launch of AD109.
A core focus is ensuring that all commercial data—across channels, programs, and partners—is effectively captured, integrated, and translated into actionable insights on overall commercial performance. The individual will build and lead the analytics capability, either through an internal team or external partners, and work closely with Commercial IT to ensure strong data infrastructure and governance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the vision, frameworks, and ways of working for Commercial Analytics
- Build and scale the analytics capability (internal team and/or external partners)
- Embed analytics into commercial decision-making across marketing, sales, and market access
- Act as a strategic partner to commercial leadership, ensuring a consistent, data-driven view of performance
Commercial Analytics Execution -
Marketing Analytics:
- Support marketing and agency partners in tracking and optimizing campaigns and programs
- Ensure all marketing data is captured, structured, and integrated for a holistic view of performance
- Enable cross-channel and cross-program analysis to understand overall marketing effectiveness
Sales Analytics:
- Lead analytics for targeting, segmentation, field force effectiveness, and performance tracking
- Develop dashboards and tools to monitor execution and drive continuous improvement
Market Access Analytics:
- Track payer coverage, access dynamics, and pull-through performance
- Provide visibility into access-related drivers of commercial success
- Develop and maintain forecasting inputs, KPIs, and performance dashboards across the commercial organization
Data Strategy & Integration
- Partner with Commercial IT to ensure all relevant data sources (CRM, claims, Rx, digital, third-party) are available, integrated, and reliable
- Define requirements for data onboarding across internal teams and external partners (e.g., agencies, vendors)
- Establish clear data governance, quality standards, and best practices
- Ensure analytics platforms and reporting tools are scalable and fit-for-purpose
Analytics to Action
- Turn complex data into clear, actionable insights that inform strategy and execution
- Provide an integrated view of commercial performance across marketing, sales, and access
- Enable test-and-learn approaches to continuously improve effectiveness
- Deliver concise, decision-ready outputs to senior leadership
Governance & Operations
- Establish best practices across analytics methodologies, tools, and vendor management
- Ensure compliant and responsible use of data
- Manage external analytics and data partners as needed
- Continuously improve analytics capabilities and impact
Experience
- 15 years in commercial analytics, data, or operations within pharma or healthcare
- Strong experience across marketing, sales, and/or market access analytics
- Experience building or scaling analytics capabilities and teams
- Hands-on experience with commercial data (e.g., claims, Rx, CRM, digital/media data)
- Launch or pre-launch experience strongly preferred
- Experience working in agile or startup environments is a plus
