The Global DBA Engineer (DBA) role is responsible for the performance, integrity, security, and availability of databases within the organization. The role encompasses both strategic and operational duties, including the efficient storage of data, maintaining access reliability, and protection against data loss or unauthorized access. The DBA will collaborate closely with terminal and regional infrastructure teams to uphold current standards, implement robust backup and recovery policies, and carry out database tuning and performance monitoring to support business continuity and system optimization. Principle Accountabilities We are looking for DBA with experience mainly in SQL-Server. Install and maintain the performance of database servers. Install and maintain HA scenarios AON, replication. knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards Develop processes for optimizing database security. Set and maintain database standards. Manage database access. Performance tuning of database systems. Install, upgrade, and manage database applications. Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors. Triage reported issues to accurately identify, escalate, and respond to urgent or critical matters in support of terminal operations. Identify root causes of outages and issues and prepare plans for permanent changes to eliminate/reduce chronic issues or establish SOPs for resolution by ‘shift left’ resources Recommend and implement emerging database technologies. Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards. Create automation for repeating database tasks. Work with the Global N4 Migration Team on all N4 upgrades. Document implementation & deployment plans Be available for on-call support as needed. Valuable Oracle DBA experience In cooperation with TOS app, deliver 24x7x365 (follow the sun) support to end users and system consumers N4 and related applications. Expand support model to all locations globally. CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field preferred Over three years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field MCSE/MCSA certifications preferred Experience with Windows Server environments preferred Good communication skills Fluent in English. Spanish is valuable. Adaptable to different cultures.
