QUALITY ENGINEER

DEPARTMENT: QualityREPORTS TO: Director of QualityPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:·         Liaison between the company and Supply Chain on incoming goods, Quality issues and Purchase Order status.·         Performing dimensional and visual inspection of parts.·         Development of incoming inspection processes, instructions, inspection plans, and techniques appropriate for the product types.·         Identification of gaps between specifications and product performance needs, and assisting in the development of solutions to bridge those gaps.·         Work with internal and external groups in understanding and communicating manufacturing challenges and solutions.·         Utilize statistical techniques and concepts, GMP, and other Quality tools in Continuous Improvement efforts.·         Collaboration with Sales, Engineering and Operations to ensure product/customer requirements and risks are flowed down through the Supply Chain, and vice versa.·         Management of Supplier Performance ratings and Scorecards.·         Understanding of various Regulatory requirements and management of Supplier/Product conformance to those requirements.OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES:·         Conducting Internal and Supplier Audits, as needed.·         Development of APQP and PPAP packages for specific customer requirements.·         Review of Supplier submitted PPAPs.·         Travel required < 20%·         Other duties as assignedREQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:·         Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.·         0 – 3 years experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance, Engineering, or similar roles.·         Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints.·         General understanding of metrology.·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.·         Comfortable using web-based applications and quality management systems for tracking, reporting, and data management.·         Experience with Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, Process Mapping a plus.·         Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.·         Ability to work in a team environment.WORKING CONDITIONS:·         General office and factory environment; Required to wear safety glasses and utilize safety equipment while present on the shop floor.·         While performing duties of the job, employee is required to move around and be still; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.HAZARDS:·         General hand tools, sharp objects.·         Employee must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs. This job description does not list all the duties of the job.
