What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Engineer position at Aplos Data?
Data Engineer | USA
Here, your work runs in the real world.
Location: USA
Employment: Full Time or Contractor
Who We Are
Where others stop, we start.
At Aplos Data, we help organizations turn fragmented data into intelligent operating systems that improve decisions, automate processes, and create measurable outcomes. Working on Palantir Foundry and AIP, we build production systems that become embedded in how businesses operate.
The Aplos Data Mindset is simple: take ownership, solve difficult problems, and leave things better than you found them. We are engineers, builders, and operators who thrive in complexity and hold ourselves to a standard that increases with every new experience and challenge.
The Role
As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and deploy enterprise AI solutions that solve real operational challenges for leading organizations.
You will work directly with customers, translating business problems into scalable technical solutions and taking ownership from design through deployment.
You will:
• Build scalable data pipelines, integrations, and backend services.
• Engineer production ready applications on Palantir Foundry and AIP.
• Design technical architectures that solve complex business challenges.
• Work directly with customers to shape requirements, solutions, and delivery plans.
• Own delivery from design, implementation, testing, and deployment through to operational adoption.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well tested code.
• Contribute to code reviews and continuously improve engineering standards.
• Support and mentor teammates while helping raise the bar across the business.
You won't just build software. You'll build systems that organizations depend on every day.
What Success Looks Like
The engineers who thrive here are not waiting to be told what to do. They identify problems, challenge assumptions, take ownership, and relentlessly pursue better outcomes.
We're looking for people who combine technical excellence with sound judgement, curiosity, and a genuine desire to create value for customers.
You'll likely bring:
• 3 to 6 years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or TypeScript.
• Experience building APIs, data platforms, integrations, or distributed systems.
• Strong SQL and cloud platform experience.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with customers.
• The ability to learn quickly, adapt to unfamiliar challenges, and take ownership of outcomes.
Experience with Palantir Foundry or AIP is beneficial but not required. We place greater value on curiosity, problem solving ability, engineering fundamentals, and a builder's mindset.

A message from our CEO
“This isn't a company for everyone. We move quickly, tackle difficult problems, and hold ourselves to an exceptionally high standard. The work is demanding because the outcomes matter. But for people who want ownership, impact, and the opportunity to learn at an accelerated pace, it's an incredible place to be. You'll work with talented teammates, solve meaningful challenges, and build systems that are deployed in the real world. That's what makes this place special.”
