Senior Operations Production Manager – Nashville, Tennessee - $80-100K

Would you like to marry your operational refurbishing experience for connected devices (consumer electronics, mainly desktops, and laptops) to help us drive revenue and growth? In this hands-on Senior Operations Production Manager role, you can use your people management experience to lead a growing team responsible for the end-to-end operations of receiving, DOD data wiping, triaging, refurbishing, and shipping of consumer electronic inventory. You will have the opportunity to set up new production lines, train, mentor, and manage staff while impacting and benefiting from the rapid growth of our company.

You will be responsible for maintaining quality, achieving the expected throughput volume, maintaining the cost standards, and improving efficiencies. You also will help us develop, implement, and enhance repeatable lean manufacturing processes throughout our production process while maintaining R2 requirements. You will help our customer improve their process with our services.

Responsibilities:

People Management:

  • Lead a small but growing Operations team in testing of the received devices and subsequent refurbishment and repair of electronic equipment.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, training, and then developing new employees while also working beside them to accomplish daily, weekly, and monthly targets with quality results. Conduct new hire orientation and perform tours with new employees and customers.
  • Monitor employees, facility, equipment, and processes related to safety. Train employees in safety & R2 practices.
  • Evaluate staff performance, recommend promotions, disciplinary action, terminations, transfers, and other changes according to established policies and procedures on a timely basis.
  • Foster a workplace culture that reflects the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Develop and maintain production and work schedules reflecting the current needs and future goals of the organization.
  • Motivate and lead the team in producing products in line with our 5-star quality process.

Operations Management:

  • Oversee and manage inventory including receiving, DOD wiping, triage, refurbishing, and shipping
  • Ensure all material moving in and out of production is tracked and reported correctly.
  • Maintain inventory of essential parts and materials to keep production moving forward, and monitor scrap and recycling as appropriate.
  • Support and enhance production processes and work instructions (documentation).
  • Work closely with the Rexi Dallas Quality Assurance team on standardization of procedures and “level-loading” the production flow.
  • Ensure the production area and production equipment are in working order and safe.
  • Manage and coordinate the introduction of new products to the production process.
  • Manage, monitor, and report department metrics (KPI’s) related to productivity, output quality, and other key attributes as required.
  • Lead and/or participate in team and cross-functional meetings as required (Sales, Marketing, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company-specific regulations related to the quality of product and to the proper performance of day-to-day activities.
  • Identify and implement new processes, tools, software, hardware, and systems that will increase throughput, productivity, safety, etc.
  • Perform other assignments as required.


What you will need:

  • A degree in Industrial Engineering or another related field is a plus
  • 4 years of relevant computer repair and refurbishment experience including related software and driver knowledge.
  • 2 years of leadership experience in computer repair and/or refurbishing including computer troubleshooting, OS deployment, and Windows drivers.
  • Previous experience in a NAID, ITAD, and R2 or e-Stewards environment preferred.
    Ability to load operating systems (OS) via network / PXE boot required.
  • Demonstrated experience with process improvement.
  • Demonstrated passion for refurbishing equipment to help recover its maximum value.
  • Experience with lean production, continuous improvement, and enhancing quality required.
  • Leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with an internal and external customer service focus (treat others as you would like to be treated – we care about our people and our customers and would like you to care too!).
  • Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task.

The “Fine Print” and the physical requirements and environmental conditions:

This role is located onsite in a warehouse facility in Nashville, Tennessee.

The physical requirements include prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. You will walk around the warehouse and help to move equipment and/or inventory on occasion (with assistance as needed). You will also need the following individual abilities:

  • The ability to push/lift 50 pounds on occasion
  • The ability to bend at the waist, sit, kneel, crouch, and climb a ladder if needed (this is a warehouse environment
  • The ability to work around lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, paints
We are an agile organization, and so the duties and description of this role (like every other at Rexi) may change at any time as we adapt.
