Assistant Director of Quality Assurance (ADQA)

The Assistant Director of Quality Assurance supports the Director of Quality Assurance in strengthening and sustaining quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across assigned programs. This leadership role helps ensure regulatory readiness, accreditation alignment, and effective quality systems while partnering with program leadership to promote high-quality, person-centered, and trauma-informed services.

The ADQA translates quality standards into consistent operational practice through audits, monitoring activities, corrective action planning, training support, and performance improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

📊 Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Assist in planning and conducting QA reviews, site visits, and chart/record audits

  • Support compliance with licensing, accreditation, certification, and regulatory standards

  • Participate in external audits and reviews (state agencies, funders, accreditation bodies, fidelity assessments)

  • Coordinate compliance documentation, tracking tools, and reporting systems

  • Identify trends, risks, and service gaps; prepare written findings and recommendations

📈 Quality Improvement & Corrective Action

  • Support Quality Improvement Plans and departmental QA strategy

  • Analyze incident trends, investigations, restrictive procedures, and plans of correction

  • Promote sustainable corrective actions with measurable performance improvement

  • Support KPI tracking systems and quality infrastructure development

🤝 Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a Quality Assurance resource to Regional and Program Directors

  • Collaborate on initiatives that strengthen service outcomes, safety, and operational consistency

  • Represent the organization in stakeholder meetings and audit activities

  • Assume delegated leadership responsibilities as needed

👥 Staff Support & Development

  • Provide oversight and guidance to QA team members

  • Support hiring processes, onboarding, and performance evaluations

  • Assist in developing training tools and documentation standards

  • Foster a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental operations and organizational goals


Qualifications

🎓 Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Social Services, or a related field

  • 7–10 years of experience in quality assurance, compliance, or regulatory oversight

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience

🧠 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and accreditation processes

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence organizational change

  • Excellent analytical, writing, communication, and problem-solving skills


Working Conditions

  • Regular travel to program sites (approximately 25–40%, including occasional overnight travel)

  • Occasional evening and weekend work as needed

  • Must maintain HIPAA compliance, confidentiality, and professional conduct at all times


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive between locations

  • Medium work level:

    • Exert up to 50 lbs occasionally

    • Up to 20 lbs frequently

    • Up to 10 lbs constantly

  • Frequent use of hands and fine motor skills

  • Reaching (high/low), pushing/pulling, repetitive motion

  • Kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling as needed

  • Ability to climb stairs or ladders

  • Visual and auditory acuity for communication and documentation


Equipment & Technology

  • Telephone (cellular and multi-line), calculator, copier, fax, computer

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and agency software systems


Vehicle Requirement

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Current vehicle registration

  • Access to a reliable vehicle


Professional & Compliance Standards

  • Follow OSHA requirements and safety guidelines

  • Observe Fire & Safety policies and procedures

  • Comply with Fiscal, Office, and HR personnel policies

  • Maintain HIPAA standards and confidentiality

  • Attend required trainings and meetings

  • Maintain professionalism and sound judgment at all times

Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
