What You'll Do
- Perform MIG, TIG, Flux Core, and/or Stick welding on carbon steel components and assemblies.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions.
- Prepare materials through grinding, fitting, aligning, and positioning prior to welding.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Perform weld repairs as needed.
- Safely operate overhead cranes, lifting devices, and production equipment.
- Accurately complete production and quality documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that drive safety, quality, and productivity.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
- Strong measuring and layout skills.
- Ability to use hand tools, grinders, and fabrication equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Prior experience in heat exchanger, pressure vessel, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
- AWS welding certifications.
- Experience operating overhead cranes.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, welding fumes, and moving equipment.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear.
