Job Title: Director, Global People Technology
Location: New Brighton, MN - onsite, open to relocation support
APi Group is modernizing how we attract, grow, reward, and care for our 30,000 teammates worldwide. We’re looking for a builder who sees technology as an amplifier of human potential—not just automation. You’ll own our people technology ecosystem and data platform, turning complexity into speed, clarity, and great teammate experiences.
Primary Objectives
- Lead the multi‑year transformation of our global HCM, payroll, and time keeping systems (Oracle HCM Cloud, UKG & Passport) across recruiting, onboarding, time, payroll, learning, talent, and total rewards.
- Stand up a scalable people data foundation—governance, metrics, self‑serve dashboards, and predictive insights.
- Shape product strategy, roadmap, and operating model in partnership with People Team, IT, and Operations.
What You Will Do
- Own the functional strategy and service delivery. Create the long-term strategy for people technology & analytics and deliver the roadmap; run intake, sequencing, and value measurement.
- Be the connective tissue. Co‑create with the People COEs, field operations, Finance, and IT to design end‑to‑end processes that reduce friction and scale globally.
- Identify and solve people-related business challenges. Partner with field and functional leaders to surface pain points, translate them into clear problem statements and measurable outcomes, prioritize by impact/effort, partner with IT to deliver scalable data-driven solutions, and track results to iterate.
- Champion people and manage experience in all designs. Use journey mapping and feedback loops to simplify work for frontline leaders and teammates.
- Product leadership. Provide strategic oversight for our entire people technology stack and strategy. Additionally, establish functional product ownership for HCM modules; oversee configuration; ensure secure, sustainable process and technology solutions.
- Data & analytics. Define KPIs and canonical metrics (headcount, turnover, productivity, safety, DEI, total rewards); build a self‑service layer and advanced analytics (forecasting, segmentation, attrition risk).
- Governance & quality. Stand up data stewardship, prioritize feature and functional development, create quality SLAs and defect/incident playbooks.
- Compliance. Ensure privacy, and auditability across HR data (SOX, GDPR/CCPA); enforce role-based access (AOR), masking, and audit trails.
- Vendor strategy. Partner with IT in managing vendor relationships, SLAs, renewals, and value realization across Oracle and key partners (ATS, LMS, background, time, payroll).
- Change enablement. Lead communications, training, and adoption; ensure frontline leaders and People Team can self‑serve.
- People leadership. Grow and coach a diverse team; establish clear roles, career paths, and a reliable on‑call/support model.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred.
- 10 years in HR technology/HRIS or People Analytics; 3 years leading teams and portfolio ownership in a complex, multi‑business enterprise.
- Hands‑on leadership with Oracle HCM Cloud (configuration and/or program ownership). Experience with ATS, LMS, time, and payroll integrations.
- Process design and change management expertise; proven cross‑functional influence from plant/field operations to the C‑suite.
- Comfort operating at two altitudes: strategic roadmap sleeves‑rolled‑up delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience owning the People Technology Ecosystem at a global scale
- Experience with iPaaS, service management (ServiceNow/Jira), advanced analytics/ML exposure, safety or skilled‑trades environments
