The Financial Systems Manager, reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Systems, supports the IT Enterprise Product Management team by collaborating with IT, Finance SMEs, and software vendors to improve systems and provide technical support. As a key partner to Finance, this analyst manages and optimizes financial systems for accurate and efficient data processing. The role facilitates business process improvement through detailed analysis, documentation, and review of functions, processes, and data flows. Responsibilities include supporting requirements development—eliciting, analyzing, specifying, and verifying business, user, solution, and data needs—and managing ongoing requirements for RIK, GIS eCommerce/Webstore, NetSuite, Adaptive, Solver, and related interfaces throughout their life cycle.


Duties/Responsibilities


System Support & Optimization

  • Provide real-time support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and implement timely resolutions, following a dedicated support model.
  • Proactively monitor system health, identify potential problems, and implement preventative measures.
  • Evaluate and optimize financial system processes and workflows for greater efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.


Project Management & Implementation

  • Lead system enhancements, upgrades, and integrations in close collaboration with IT and other departments.
  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure system functionality and quality assurance.
  • Manage the change management process, including creating and delivering training materials for end-users to support adoption of new features, system changes, and best practices


Strategic Planning & Analysis

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and analyze business processes related to financial systems.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify system gaps, errors, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop tailored solutions that align with long-term financial strategies and company objectives.


Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and system champion, promoting adoption and maximizing technology investments.
  • Work closely with the Finance team and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and effective communication.
  • Contribute to financial reporting and analysis requirements as needed.


Security & Compliance

  • Maintain system security by managing access controls.
  • Assist in defining, implementing, and enforcing data governance policies for financial systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Assist with the annual financial audit process and the collection and upkeep of supporting documentation


Qualifications

  • Requires 5-7 years of experience in a similar role and subject matter expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant area, or other related field equivalent work experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial systems, and data management.
  • Relevant IT program management work experience.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Workday Adaptive, Dynamics 365 Sales, and other relevant financial systems (Ramp, ADP Workforce Now, DocuSign CLM a plus).
  • Must be self-managing, highly motivated and have a strong commitment to quality.
  • Ability to comprehend and break down complex business concepts quickly.
  • Able to take creative approaches to solving challenging problems in a collaborative setting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and customer service issues.
  • Ability to effectively manage simultaneous assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Professional presentation skills.


Physical Requirements

  • Able to remain in a stationary position working on a computer
  • Move about the office to access office machinery, meeting rooms, etc. on occasion
  • Operate a computer and other office machinery such as printers and copy machines
  • Transport items and equipment up to 10 lbs. on occasion



Travel Requirements

  • Up to 25%

This salary range is DC based and may be adjusted accordingly due to candidate’s geographic location. Candidates are typically hired at a point in the salary range based on prior experience, education, and market demand for the role; candidates are also compared internally to their peers.
