We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented individual to join our growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for supervising a team manufacturing polymer as well as organizing and monitoring work flow. The successful candidate will have a track record of leadership, process improvement, increasing efficiencies, reducing cost and improving sustainability.

Production Supervisor Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee production process to ensure compliance with established procedures, processes, and systems. Responsible for assigning work tasks to operators and to follow up on the assigned tasks as part of the active supervision process. Additionally, incumbent is accountable for reviewing production data and making appropriate operating decisions to allow units to meet prime production targets. Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
• Maintains staff by orienting and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities.
• Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
• Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
• Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
• Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
• Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
• Initiates unit specific skills training for operators, evaluates progress, and supports the development capabilities in collaboration with the Department Manager and HR Manager in order to increase employee competencies
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Minimum 3 - 5 years’ proven work experience as a production supervisor or operator
• Knowledge of process related standards
• Decision making ability and leadership skills
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Bachelor’s degree a plus
