What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer / Planner position at APG CASH DRAWER LLC?
The Buyer/Planner is responsible for buying and planning materials from both domestic and international sources to support apg’s goals for customer satisfaction, profitability, and cash management. The selected individual will use all the capabilities of our ERP system to achieve these results and will lead initiatives to drive continual improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure the alignment of the materials management strategy with the business strategies driving sales, marketing, finance, and manufacturing
• Leverage ERP and supply chain systems to ensure timely materials supply to the production facility and third-party warehouses.
• Understand output of materials requirement planning (MRP).
• Continually optimize inventory while not impacting apg’s costs or the customer experience
• Calculate safety stock and economic order quantities for independent demand items
• Effectively manage surplus and obsolete inventories.
• Calculate key inventory performance metrics such as turnover ratios, cost-benefit trade-offs, days of inventory on hand, and inventory valuation.
• Manage the purchasing cycle, including generating requisitions, PO creation, PO follow-up, goods reception and final payment
• Maintain and update sourcing parameters in the system for optimal planning.
• All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field. A combination of education and applicable experience will be considered.
• 5 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or related field. International buying experience preferred.
• Extensive experience leveraging materials planning and buying tools within ERP systems
• May require travel to supplier locations
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
