What are the responsibilities and job description for the Street Signs Worker position at apexnc?
Performs a variety of responsible semi-skilled and technical work in the fabrication, installation and maintenance of traffic and street signs and markings. An employee in this class works with the Town's traffic and street sign program. This position also performs the duties of a Street Maintenance Worker by assisting in the construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, sidewalks, curbs and storm drains. Work involves fabrication and installation of signs to ensure compliance with MUTCD and Town Standards. Work involves operating a variety of tools and light equipment, including operating GPS equipment and responding during inclement weather or other emergencies. Employees are subject to working in both inside and outside environments, in extreme hot and cold weather, and exposure to various hazards such as loud noises, vibration, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation, and oils. Work is performed under regular supervision and is evaluated through observation and inspection for adherence to instructions and standard trade and safety practices.
This position reports to the Streets Operations Supervisor. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
