In this Lexington, SC, based position, your core responsibility will be to develop and improve industrial tool products. You will be involved in all design-related aspects of the projects from concept to beyond production.
This position does require the ability to interface with engineering, sales, quality, production, and marketing personnel.

- Innovate, create, and evolve new product ideas using Voice of Customer (VOC) and related techniques to support aggressive growth objectives for a mature and highly profitable business.
- Design, build, and implement various mechanical systems with a focus on high performance industrial tool products.
- Conduct tests, collect data, and evaluate results by fully applying multiple analytical methods
- Design, layout, test, and troubleshoot new and existing designs.
- Partner with product management team to translate product design features into engineering requirements and specifications.
- Drive sustaining improvements through failure mode analysis, performance optimization, and tradeoff studies.
- Partner with suppliers and contractors to ensure that the product is developed on time and on budget.
- Provide feedback and expertise in cross functional design reviews.
- Travel to customer and vendor sites as needed to trouble-shoot problems and resolve issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with 3D Cad. Creo 8.0 or later preferred
- Experience with SAP is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of working experience with product design
- Basic understanding of machining principles and capabilities.
- Must have a high degree of mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Must be well organized and able to work on and follow several projects simultaneously.
