Apex Tool Group has an opportunity for a Maintenance Machinist in it's York, PA facility to support production of Campbell Chain brand of chain and fittings. Previous working experience is required. Experience as a journeyman machinist or tool and die maker is preferred.

- Diagnose faulty equipment.
- Make, fit, and install necessary replacement parts to maintain mechanical equipment in good operational condition.
- Design and make parts for fixtures within the plant.
- Perform functions of machinist, millwright, and on occasions may work at various building trades.
- Work from blueprints, sketches, or replacement parts to perform operations required.
- Use high degree of initiative and ingenuity to understand and plan the correct procedure to diagnose faulty machine operation, disassemble machine, and make necessary repairs.
- Operate all machine shop equipment, proficiently obtaining an excellent understanding of machining techniques.
- Will occasionally assist the maintenance department in the installation and set-up of production equipment.
- Complete all other types of machine shop duties as directed, including assisting other machinists and coordinating with other craft associates.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures to produce a quality product/service, including reporting non-conforming materials and scrap.
- Report unusual conditions or questionable items to supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
- Keep work area clean and orderly; perform daily 5S assignments.
- Maintain records as required.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3-years related work experience.
- Journeyman machinist or tool and die maker preferred.
- Knowledge of basic hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Capable of working to extremely close tolerances.
- Able to work overtime hours (more than 40 hours per week and Saturdays) as required.
- Frequent movements include walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing, and other active movements.
- Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment.
- Working across temperature zones that may include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods.
- Able to lift and carry 60 pounds.
