What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Shop Assistant position at Apex Tactical Specialties, Inc.?
Full Time – Non-exempt: Monday – Thursday schedule
Reports to: Manufacturing Manager
Salary commensurate with experience: $16.50 - $18.50
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
- Post-machining processing of parts, including use of processing equipment to clean and debur parts, hand tools for final cleaning of parts and general inspection of parts for good quality.
- Fill, Empty, and sort parts from small tumble and vibratory deburring machines.
- Bead blast parts and prep for outside finishing.
- Cut raw materials on a band saw.
- Deburr cut materials on belt sander.
- Assistance with facility maintenance
- Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge and use of work tools, including but not limited to: micrometers, calipers, gage pins, rulers, computers, etc.
- Demonstrate good mechanical skills.
- Must be punctual and possess good work ethic.
- Detail oriented.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to repetitively lift 30 pounds.
- Ability to understand and learn company terminology.
- Willingness to learn and improve skills constantly.
- Patience in stressful situations.
Salary : $17 - $19
