Job Description:

Role Summary

Supports Ascension’s ambulatory application portfolio Primary focus on athenahealth platform Leads discovery and high-level solution design for ambulatory initiatives Supports new implementations, practice acquisitions, and conversions to athena Partners with clinical, business, and technical stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

Conduct discovery for ambulatory projects and initiatives Design high-level architectural solutions for athena implementations Lead solution design for practice acquisitions and system conversions Coordinate with domain owners, business partners, and technical teams Create architecture documentation and data flow diagrams Provide guidance on athena platform capabilities and best practices

Required Skills – athena Platform & Ambulatory Strong knowledge of athena platform architecture and foundational build Deep understanding of ambulatory workflows Experience with athena Clinicals build and maintenance Implementation experience in ambulatory environments Experience building APIs within athena Knowledge of HL7 integrations (ADT, DFT, ORM, ORU, MDM) Experience with SFTP integrations SQL experience including Dataview reporting

Preferred Skills

General knowledge of athena Collector and athena Portal Understanding of practice management workflows Experience with portal administration tools Experience with third-party ambulatory applications or marketplace apps Experience creating data flow diagrams Experience using Lucidchart or Visio Experience supporting large organizations with multiple tablespaces Experience with other ambulatory EHRs (eClinicalWorks, NextGen, Cerner ambulatory, etc.)

Experience Requirements

8 years overall ambulatory EHR experience

5–6 years hands-on athena experience strongly preferred Seasoned systems architect background

Education

Bachelor’s Degree Required (related Field) Advanced Degree Preferred
