Position: Revenue Accounting System Business Analyst
Location: Miami, FL - Onsite Tues-Thurs
Duration : 6 month contract
Rate Range : $45-55/hr
Position Overview:
The Specialist Revenue Accounting Systems plays an important role in delivering a high quality, perfectly functioning revenue accounting software and various components of the other applications that impact revenue accounting area. The prime responsibilities of this role include: overseeing system maintenance and enhancements projects related to finance and revenue accounting functions, designing and executing user acceptance test plans, examining the revenue accounting systems for a presence of program defects and shortcomings and other user experience issues. The Specialist Revenue Accounting Systems is expected to have solid analytical skills and high attention to detail, as well as to be proficient in test management software and processes.
The role may work in conjunction with other teams within the brand and Corporate Finance, Retail Operations, Revenue Management, Hotel Operations, Groups Department, etc. to insure cohesiveness with corporate goals and initiatives. This individual works with IT, Decision Support, business users and any other departments as needed to support the development and implementation of new business practices.
Success in this role will be determined by the individual’s ability to identify assigned projects' scope, plan the required activities, execute the testing phase and produce quality test results, meet projects' timelines, perform the required post implementation activities and provide effective support to the business user.
Essential Functions:
Collaborates with business stakeholders, software developers and project support teams to determine project scope and requirements. Responsible for designing, reviewing and implementing user acceptance test plans. Performs all testing activities related to revenue accounting software to ensure the scope of the projects is met and identified defects are corrected prior to a production implementation. Monitors project schedules as well as takes ownership of change management process.
Provides insights on the current functionality of the applications used by the Revenue Accounting and other Finance departments as well as suggests possible enhancements to these systems. Participates in meetings to understand business requirements and to provide feedback on various aspects of the revenue accounting systems.
Reviews, monitors, facilitates and organizes revenue accounting systems production deployment activities.
Interprets ‘user stories’ impacting revenue accounting systems area, creates business cases (defect, maintenance, and enhancement) using specialized software.
Provides production support related to revenue accounting applications by analyzing system issues reported by business users, and opening support cases using specialized software, as well as monitoring timely resolutions.
Facilitates the revenue accounting data mining activities, provide directions and support to other business units in identifying revenue accounting data sources.
