Network Security Engineer (Federal Program) – Arlington, VA | Onsite
Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required
We are seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to support a major Federal Government program in Arlington, VA. This position is fully onsite and requires deep expertise in Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, GlobalProtect, and Prisma Access, along with strong hands‑on network engineering experience.
This role combines architecture, engineering, and operations. You'll help shape the future of a large-scale secure infrastructure while also diving into complex troubleshooting and optimization work.

We are seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to support a major Federal Government program in Arlington, VA. This position is fully onsite and requires deep expertise in Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, GlobalProtect, and Prisma Access, along with strong hands‑on network engineering experience.

What You’ll Do
- Serve as a Tier III engineering expert for network and security infrastructure
- Design, implement, and optimize firewall solutions across multiple environments
- Troubleshoot complex traffic flows, analyze PCAPs, and refine security policies
- Support scheduled system upgrades, deployments, and critical enhancements
- Assist with Zero Trust and Prisma Access implementation across the enterprise
- Produce technical documentation, operational runbooks, and security control materials
- Support occasional after-hours maintenance windows
- 10 years of Network/Security Engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust (U.S. Citizenship required)
- Extensive experience with:
- Palo Alto Firewalls (3200 & 5200/5400/5600 series)
- Panorama 9.x
- GlobalProtect
- Threat Protection, URL filtering, decryption/TLS, PKI, and PCAP analysis
- Strong application‑based traffic engineering and firewall policy design
- Experience supporting Prisma Access in multi‑site architectures
- Cisco, Juniper, and multi-vendor network experience
- WAN, LAN, WLAN, data center networking, and load balancers
- Azure VNETs, routing, firewalling, and Entra ID/SAML authentication
- Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) frameworks and integrations
- Creating zones, policies, and troubleshooting zoned traffic
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and operate in a fast‑paced environment
