HPE NonStop Systems Administrator

Location: Richmond, Virginia

Role Overview

We are seeking an HPE NonStop Systems Administrator to support a highly available, fault-tolerant platform for authorizations and payment systems. The role involves comprehensive server and platform maintenance, application support, and ensuring system stability across multiple environments. Two openings are available, one requiring onsite presence in Richmond, VA, and another in Phoenix, AZ, which may offer remote flexibility.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide server and platform maintenance, including patching and ongoing support.
  • Manage dual OS environments, including Guardian OS and OSS (Open System Services).
  • Support full lifecycle operations across production and lower-level environments for 37 NonStop systems.
  • Perform baseline reviews and audits to ensure system stability and compliance.
  • Execute failover exercises, including ARC testing and data center isolation scenarios.
  • Provide hands-on access in the data center for tasks such as COLDLOADS and HSM maintenance.

Application & Middleware Support

  • Utilize expert-level experience with Pathway CGI programming.
  • Provide middleware support for Base24 (POS Debit) and Lusis Tango (Merchant Acquiring).
  • Support integrations using ICE, SOAP, REST, OAuth, and MQ.

Development & System Tools

  • Apply hands-on experience with vi, make, and both bash and ksh scripting.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of HPE NonStop Servlets for JavaServer Pages (NSJSP) and its integration differences.

Infrastructure & Networking

  • Apply a strong understanding of networking concepts including load balancers, firewall policies, TCP/IP, NDM, User Access, and IPAM.

Security & Data Protection

  • Work with security tools and protocols such as Safeguard, HashiCorp password vaulting, ACLs, and user access controls.
  • Support ChronoStream DB feeds.
  • Manage the lifecycle for over 100 certificates.

Cryptography & Key Management

  • Support 132 HSMs, including configuration, maintenance, and key ceremonies, with experience in FutureX and Utimaco platforms.
  • Support tokenization and Enterprise Key Management Systems (EKMS) for encrypting data at rest across three different solutions.

Database & Storage

  • Provide support for SQL/MX databases, with an expectation for learning additional responsibilities.
  • Manage internal SSD storage and dedicated virtual tape backup solutions.

Performance & Capacity

  • Perform performance tuning and capacity planning across all NonStop systems.

Product & Platform Ownership

  • Act as a Product Manager for approximately 100 products within the Enterprise Architecture portfolio.
