Job Description:
Apex Systems is looking to hire an ONSITE FEA Engineer for our client based out of Greensboro, NC.
This assignment is anticipated to be a 12-month contract with strong potential for extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment. This will also have a first shift Monday-Friday schedule.
Responsibilities:
Education and Experience:
Strong background in structural mechanics, durability, and linear/non-linear analysis methods. 5 years of simulation experience in a product development environment, preferably in class 8 heavy-duty truck development. Experience with CAD (PTC Creo preferred) and component design & development preferred. Automotive experience is a plus. Experience working on Linux/HPC systems. 6 years' experience using commercial FEA analysis tools such as NASTRAN, Optistruct, nCode, Abaqus, Hyperworks, etc. Experience with Motionview, truckSim, or other vehicle dynamics simulation tools is a plus. Highly experienced in Linux OS and using HPC systems for submitting and monitoring CAE jobs. Experience with shell/Linux scripting to automate repetitive tasks is a plus. Practical hands-on experience with validation and experimental measurements, including design of experiments.

Job Description:
Apex Systems is looking to hire an ONSITE FEA Engineer for our client based out of Greensboro, NC.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct FEA analysis (Static/Modal, Non-linear, Vibration, Reliability/Durability & Fatigue calculations) on components, sub-systems, and complete vehicles to ensure durability and reliability requirements are met.
- Perform technical research, analyze simulation results, prepare engineering reports, and provide recommendations to improve designs.
- Collaborate with design engineers and testing teams to develop test plans and instrumentation roadmaps for durability and reliability testing.
- Validate simulation models by correlating them with test data.
- Work with global technical strategy teams to develop simulation strategies and CAE methodologies.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering stakeholders to estimate CAE budgets for new projects.
- Coordinate and delegate CAE tasks, managing team deliveries.
- Oversee and manage simulation tasks across engineering teams and external partners.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 6 years of industry experience
- Or a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 4 years of experience in structural analysis of mechanical systems.

- Ability to work in cross-functional teams to communicate and agree on designs for assembly, cost, sourcing, and aftermarket servicing.

- Strong desire and passion to create the best product, working as part of a highly technical organization.
- Project management, AGILE/Scrum Master experience are considered a plus.
