Position Summary
The Solar Electrical Foreman is a field leadership position responsible for overseeing the electrical installation on commercial and utility-scale solar construction projects. This role combines crew supervision, technical electrical expertise, and operational coordination to ensure work is executed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards. The Foreman leads a team of electricians and installers, making independent decisions in the field to address issues and optimize performance. They serve as a key liaison between project management and the electrical crew, maintaining high safety standards and efficient construction practices in an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environment. The position requires strong leadership, thorough knowledge of solar PV electrical systems, and a commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of site operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Lead and supervise electrical crews on site to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
· Enforce compliance with OSHA, NEC, and company safety policies.
· Interpret electrical schematics and coordinate work plans with the Superintendent.
· Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and maintain safe working environments.
· Manage material orders, inventory, and tool usage on site.
· Perform inspections, quality checks, and coordinate with QA/QC teams.
· Document daily work, field conditions, and maintain accurate records.
· Coordinate with subcontractors and commissioning teams for inspection readiness.
· Mentor junior staff and apprentices in safety and technical proficiency.
· Respond to field challenges using sound judgment and technical knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications
· Five (5) years of electrical construction experience, two (2) years as a foreman or lead.
· High school diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred.
· Valid Journeyman Electrician license (any U.S. jurisdiction).
· OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certification (or willing to obtain).
· Ability to read schematics, use testing tools, and apply NEC standards.
· Proficient in documenting work and communicating with project teams.
· Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience on commercial and utility-scale solar projects.
· Certified apprenticeship (IBEW/NECA or IEC) strongly preferred.
· Proficiency with commissioning processes and QA/QC testing.
· Familiarity with project management tools like Procore.
· Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
· Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly; heavier items with assistance.
· Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb stairs/ladders frequently.
· Work in confined spaces, trenches, and heights with appropriate PPE.
· Sufficient vision to inspect work; color vision to distinguish wires.
· Ability to give and understand verbal instructions in noisy environments.

Work Environment
· Outdoor job site conditions including weather extremes, dust, and noise.
· Work near moving equipment and high-voltage systems using proper PPE.
