Construction Equipment/Diesel Mechanic
Location: Summerville, South Carolina -- fully onsite
Length: 3 month contract to hire
Shift: 7AM - 5PM
Role Overview
Our organization is seeking an experienced Construction Equipment/Diesel Mechanic to join the maintenance team. The successful candidate will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of heavy machinery and company vehicles in both shop and field environments.
Key Responsibilities
Five or more years of mechanical experience working with heavy equipment, diesel machinery, trucks, or construction equipment is required.
Preferred Qualifications
The position requires working in both indoor shop environments and outdoor field locations. Technicians must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.

- Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on diesel and gasoline-powered machinery
- Respond to equipment breakdowns on active construction sites to minimize downtime
Five or more years of mechanical experience working with heavy equipment, diesel machinery, trucks, or construction equipment is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a lead mechanic or supervisory capacity
- Technical or trade school education in diesel technology or heavy equipment repair
- Manufacturer training certifications, such as Caterpillar or equivalent
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or similar professional mechanical certifications
- Proficiency in welding and fabrication
