Apex Skin is a rapidly growing skincare organization committed to delivering exceptional patient experiences. We are currently seeking a talented Medical Assistant to join our Mayfield Heights team. This role is responsible for a blend of administrative and clinical duties, including maintaining patient records, preparing exam rooms, supporting physicians during exams and procedures, and managing front-desk tasks.The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, team-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.This is a full-time, hourly (40 hours/week) position and requires legal authorization to work in the United States.Essential FunctionsEscort patients to exam rooms in appointment order; obtain medical histories, vital signs, and updated medication lists.Prepare exam rooms based on scheduled procedures and anticipate provider needs.Provide real-time transcription/documentation during visits to ensure compliance with legal, state, and Medicare standards.Assist physicians with biopsies, surgical procedures, and other clinical needs.Educate patients on treatment plans, medication usage, and follow-up care before they leave the office.Clean and restock exam rooms between patients.Maintain accurate patient records and charts.Provide appropriate and timely emergency care when needed.Demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and adherence to OSHA/HIPAA standards.Monitor and complete lab documentation, biopsy/culture logs, telephone encounters, and EMR task queues.Manage all clinical phone calls in partnership with providers.Track and follow up on biopsy results for patients.Assist with autoclave procedures and quality control tasks.Perform clerical functions such as prior authorizations, scheduling, answering phones, and scanning documents into the EMR.Travel to additional Apex Skin locations as needed.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Qualifications & ExperienceRequiredStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to multi-task and remain flexible in a fast-paced environmentProfessional phone etiquette and customer service skillsExcellent organization, time management, and attention to detailProficiency in basic computer softwareFamiliarity with medical terminologyStrong focus on quality and professionalismPreferredBA/BS degree in a related field2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant1 year of dermatology experienceCertified or Registered Medical Assistant (or currently pursuing certification)About Us – Who We AreWe are Apex Skin.
