M&A Accountant Mission of the Role:We are looking for a high-powered Accountant who will be a critical team member andearly employee in our journey. This person will be directly involved in integrating newacquisitions as a key partner with Regional Controller for Apex Service Partners. He / shewill help drive the financial and accounting transformations with newly acquiredcompanies.This person must have superior organization and communication skills, while maintainingstrong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. He / she will have extensiveinvolvement in fostering relationships and implementing processes and procedures withnewly acquired companies as the region grows. This individual will be responsible forintegrating various daily accounting transactions related to the regional accountingfunctions, such as implementation of GAAP accounting policies, regional levelconsolidations where applicable, accounts receivables, accounts payables, payroll andmonth end close. This individual will also assist with the month-end close process for theregion, working closely with the Controller to ensure financial reporting integrity. He/shewill also be involved in the year-end audit process by providing support as requested. Thisopportunity offers high visibility in a rapidly growing company and the successful candidatemust show great initiative including the ability to work with limited supervision.This role will report directly to the Regional Controller for the Atlantic Region of ApexService Partners. Responsibilities:Working closely with the Regional Controller the Accountant will play a key role inintegrating newly acquired companies to deliver auditable financial statements. Job responsibilities include:• Participate in the preparation stage of a new acquisition while maintaining strict confidentiality with regards to acquisition targets• Support the acquisition integration in person during the early days after the acquisition• Establish relationships with support staff at newly acquired companies to foster a cohesive team environment• Work closely with the General Manager (GM) and Market Area President (MAP) to coordinate assignment of accounting related duties• Ensure adequate training is provided for new team members from the acquisition• Coordinate the creation and integration of new bank accounts and financing partnerships• Work closely with the Regional Accounting Manager, Regional A/P Manager and Regional A/R Manager throughout the integration process• Participate in the preparation and reconciliation of opening balance sheet entries• Assist with providing external auditors all requested materials, in conjunction with the Controller• Complete reconciliation of funds transfer needed between Apex and the prior owners in a timely manner• Participate and assist with other month-end close and reconciliation functions as assigned• Assist with systems implementation and data integrity to ensure accuracy of financial data• Identify opportunities for efficiency and implement streamlined procedures where possible• Execute the individual and team goals that support strategic and operational initiatives• Contribute to team culture Experience:• 3 years of prior accounting experience (public accounting preferred)• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field• Ability to communicate accounting and financial information into common language• CPA license a plus• Experience with Sage Intacct and accounting ERP implementations a plus• Extreme formatting, organization and priority setting skills• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and teamwork Personal Characteristics:• Analytical – finds meaning and action in numbers, and is data-driven• Excellent communicator – written and oral• Stellar time management and organizational skills• Resourceful – figures out how to achieve results creatively with finite resources• Thrives in a nimble, lean, unstructured, fast-paced entrepreneurial environment• Works collaboratively and energetically• Impeccable integrity and ethical standards• Self-aware, accepting, honest, open, and respectful of others• An undying commitment to personal growth and development Location: Open to Tampa, FL/ Manassas or Ashburn, VA/ Dallas, TX/ Philadelphia, PA /Buffalo or White Plains, NYOther Benefits: medical, dental and vision coverage, competitive PTO, sick days, andholidays, 401k matchingTravel: Travel will be required during the initial days of acquisition to coordinate with staffon the ground.
