Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Fabricator/Welder with Apex will be responsible for the fabrication, welding, painting and assembly of various railroad components. The successful candidate will be detail oriented and process driven. They will have at least one year of fabrication/welding experience in a production environment or related technical training. The right candidate will enjoy working in a production environment, while bringing enthusiasm to support implementing standard processes and best practices to help Apex scale for growth.

Job Description
- Fabricate & assemble metal railroad components using defined manufacturing processes
- Horizontal Band Saw - cutting to length
- Oxy-Fuel Torch - heating and bending
- Hydraulic Presses - forming
- Manual Lathe - turning outer diameters
- Thread rolling - forming threads
- Paint booth – painting parts
- Perform welding tasks using MIG & Stick processes
- Inspect completed parts and assemblies to ensure they meet required specifications
- Operate forklift, hoists, slings, hand and power tools related to the job needs
- Ensure production deadlines are met with clear communication and issue escalation as needed
- Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
- Coordinate with QC and Engineering departments to troubleshoot mechanical & process related issues
- Follow written and verbal instructions
- Adhere to set safety regulations
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings & diagrams
- Familiar with AWS symbols/specifications
- Knowledge and use of tools & equipment to include but not limited to wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, cutters, drills, taps & dies, drivers(manual/power), torque tools, files, drill presses, arbor presses, grinders/polishers, spring gages, tape measure, calipers(digital),
- Understanding of work order travelers/routers
- Ability to become certified in standard MIG, Stick, and TIG welding procedure specifications
- Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO-9000
- Knowledge of machining processes a plus, but not required
- Willingness to cross-train to other areas of production.

- Must be at least 18 years old
- Drug-free (and able to pass a drug screening)
- Clean driving record / valid CDL
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Willingness to learn
- High school degree
- Competitive base salary based on experience, starting $20-25/hr
