Join the Apex Mills Team – Where Precision Meets Purpose

Do you enjoy hands-on work and take pride in producing quality materials? Are you looking for a role where your focus, patience, and teamwork make a real impact?

At Apex Mills, our Threaders are vital to keeping our operations running smoothly. As part of the Knitting Department, you’ll play a key role in preparing machinery to produce the high-performance textiles our clients rely on.

Why You’ll Thrive Here:

  • Competitive Pay: Starting at $18.00/hr, with pay increases as you gain experience and move into a full-time role.

  • On-the-Job Training: Learn the specialized skills of threading and sleying from experienced team members.

  • Supportive Team Environment: Work alongside skilled professionals who care about quality, safety, and each other.

  • Career Development: Gain valuable manufacturing experience that can open the door to future opportunities in textile production.

What You’ll Do:

  • Thread Yarn with Precision: Read and follow spec sheets and thread charts to correctly thread yarn into knitting machines.

  • Prepare Warps: Tape out warps on beams and machine sley points.

  • Machine Support: Thread and install bars into knitting machines, assist Knitters as needed, and recognize quality issues early to reduce downtime.

  • Documentation: Accurately complete production tickets and communicate updates to team members.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with your team to maintain productivity and meet quality standards.

  • Maintain a Clean Workspace: Help ensure housekeeping standards are met in the knitting room.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience: Previous textile experience is helpful, but not required—we’ll train the right candidate.

  • Skills: Ability to read spec sheets, follow instructions, and work with yarn delicately and efficiently.

  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours, climb ladders, and use hands/fingers to thread yarn. Good vision and steady hands are essential.

  • Other Requirements: Must be punctual, reliable, and able to pass a pre-employment background check and substance screening.

Your Work Environment:

You’ll work in a dynamic manufacturing setting with moving machinery and regulated temperatures. Due to noise levels exceeding OSHA’s action level, hearing protection is required (we provide it!).
