Here at Apex Medical Billing and Credentialing our goal is to maximize the Practice/Providers earning potential by eliminating inefficiencies, reducing their expenses and increasing the net revenue of their practice, allowing them to spend more time with patients and less time with paperwork. We are trained, certified healthcare billing professionals who provide real-time, web-based insurance claim processing and comprehensive billing services to the medical industry.
We are looking for a detail-oriented, flexible Medical Billing Specialist/Data Entry Sepcialist. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00a - 5:00p. The position is not remote. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced work environment and is comfortable juggling multiple tasks.
Job Role and Responsibilities:
- Sending reminders to clients upon delays in payment
- Identifying and resolving issues with income processing, such as discrepancies, billing errors or late payments
- Submitting reimbursement claims after verifying their authenticity, going through the supporting documentation and ensuring compliance with company guidelines
- Resolving billing enquires, delayed payments and other issues by coordinating with the customer, healthcare company and the insurance provider
- Identifying opportunities to streamline payment processing using software and business process automation
- Performing in-depth financial analysis to improve cash flow for the company and reduce outstanding balances
- Submitting Insurance Claims to the Insurance, Following up with Clearinghouse and Insurance companies to make sure claim has been received.
- Entering in Explanation of Benefits (EOB) into EHR system.
- Insurance Verification
- Patient Statements
- Working Insurance Rejection and Denials and Sending appeals
- Tracks responses and follows-up on Insurance payments not received within established time frames.
- Frequently communicate with providers and medical office staff.
- All other related duties as assigned.
- As the Data Entry specialist, you will be responsible for, but not limited to client accounts assigned to you, staying up to date on all new insurance billing and coding policies and procedures. Your job duties are but not limited to; data entry, posting patient and insurance payments, and having enough knowledge on each client system and the ability to navigate all client portals as well as insurance portals.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required. Associate's Degree, preferred.
- At least 1 year of Medical Office Experience, preferred.
- At least 1 year of Data Entry Experience, preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to ensure development of strong internal and external relationships with all levels of professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to perform tasks with a high degree of quality and accuracy.
- Sense of urgency and desire to achieve top line results.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while delivering results within expected timelines.
- High level of energy to work in a fast paced environment often including time deadlines, frequent interruptions, multiple demands and multi-tasking.
- Working knowledge of State and Federal law relating to due process and provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and all applicable standards.
