Position Summary

Apex Materials is seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team on the graveyard shift. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of tractor-trailers and heavy equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. The ideal candidate will have experience in diesel engine repair, diagnostics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance services on trucks, trailers, and equipment.

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and related systems.

• Repair and maintain hydraulic, electrical, suspension, brake, and air systems.

• Utilize diagnostic software and vehicle computer systems to identify and resolve mechanical issues.

• Conduct safety inspections and ensure equipment meets DOT and company standards.

• Complete work orders, maintenance records, and parts documentation accurately.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

• Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 2 years of diesel mechanic experience.

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, and suspension systems.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Must provide own tools to begin employment.

• Ability to work graveyard/night shift.

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred

• Fleet maintenance experience.

• Welding and fabrication experience.

• Class A CDL.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Experience working on tractor-trailers, dump trucks, side dumps, belly dumps, and heavy equipment.
