Athlete (Team Member) / Youth Mentor- Overview

As an Apex Team Member, you will go into Macomb County and the surrounding areas in MI Elementary Schools & Middle Schools for 2-week periods to inspire kids through key leadership, character, fitness & kindness lessons facilitating ridiculously effective hassle-free fundraising programs (Apex Fun Run, Apex Remix, Color Games & Anython). The program is a leadership-driven and fitness promoting fundraiser which includes teacher huddles, pep rallies, class lessons, prize delivery, Recess time, Event Day (Fun Run, Glow Run, Remix, Color Games, Thon…) and recap day.

JOB DETAILS:

· This opportunity is in the Macomb County Area.

· The job offers summers and winter breaks off similar to a school schedule.

· Starts: End-July/Mid-August 2025 Timeline for initial training to prepare for the 2025-26 school year. There is the potential ability for some to travel to support other Apex Leadership Co. Operations across the nation.

Job Type: Part-Time / Full-Time

Compensation: $700.00 - $750.00 /week ($1400.00 - $1450.00 /2-week program)

Program Bonus: There are bonus opportunities for booking meetings with decision makers of schools we do not serve, additional bonus if the school signs an agreement based on that meeting and end of semester bonus based on performance.

Travel Program Bonus: Opportunity to travel across the country to serve Apex schools in another state. Travel, housing and food stipend provided.

RESPONSIBILITES:

· Serve Teachers and Administrators while striving to make their jobs easier.

· Inspire Kids by being an excellent role model always.

· Teach Leadership Lessons and interact with students during class, lunch, recess and PE.

· Set up and tear down equipment needed for each aspect of the program. (Pep Rally & Event Days)

MUST-HAVES:

· Strong Character, Leadership and Integrity

· A clean background check

· Good oral and written communication skills (MUST be able to communicated with BOTH children and adults)

· Good organizational skills

· Ability to connect with kids and lead by example

· You always show up early everywhere you go

· Ability to speak in front of large crowds for pep rallies and fun runs

· Must be willing to be pied in the face, slimed and silly-stringed

· Reliable transportation - MUST be able to get to and from each school we serve throughout the county

NICE-TO-HAVES:

· Computer Skills – Familiarity with Microsoft & Google Tools

· Previous experience working with kids

Program Offerings:

Apex Fun Run — The initial event developed by Apex Leadership Company that combines a two-week fundraising program based on social media, culminating in a student fun run. High-energy team leaders encourage students to reach their potential not only in terms of fundraising and the race itself, but other essential characteristics such as respect, accountability and more. Apex Glow Run — The same as Apex Fun Run, however, instead of an outdoor fun run an indoor glow in the dark run! Imagine a glow tunnel, strobe lights and a light up track!

Apex Remix – Much like the Apex Fun Run, this event features a two-week fundraising period leading up to the main event — a fun themed dance party hosted by the Apex team. Apex Remix Introduction Link: https://vimeo.com/68420878

Color Games — Combining the Anython fundraising platform and Apex Fun Run two-week program and encouraging team members, the Color Games, which was built to serve middle school fundraising needs, includes an energetic pep rally and culminates in a Color Games social event featuring music, games promoting teamwork and an “all out color throwing” extravaganza. Anython — Beyond just school groups, Anython is a company dedicated to helping individuals and organizations raise money through technology. Through this online fundraiser, donors are encouraged to pledge a dollar amount, or a flat donation to participating individuals or groups. IF YOU CAN THINK IT, WE CAN THON IT! (Basketball – Free Throw-A-Thon, Baseball – Hit-A-Thon, Soccer – Shoot-A-Thon, Youth Group – Random Act of Kindness-A-Thon, etc.)
