Position Overview
- Provides leadership and coordinates staffing in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) with 12 beds, focusing on adult and geriatric patients with complex needs.
- Ensures delivery of quality patient care by assigning, directing, educating, and monitoring nursing/support staff during shifts.
- Assesses patient care needs, develops care plans, and evaluates care effectiveness to meet desired outcomes.
- Responds to patient care concerns, manages issues through established channels, and may participate in staff hiring, training, and evaluations.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS may be required within six months depending on unit.
- Diploma from an accredited nursing program and at least one year of relevant experience.
