- Perform diagnostic radiological exams using appropriate imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety and image quality.
- Verify patient identity, review medical records, and obtain relevant medical history, including risk factors.
- Explain procedures, including risks, benefits, and follow-up care, to patients and their families.
- Set up equipment, acquire images, review and document findings, and communicate data to radiologists.
- Recognize and respond to medical emergencies when necessary.
- Provide post-care instructions as prescribed by physicians.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, including patient flow and satisfaction initiatives.
- Educate residents, students, and new staff on imaging procedures.
- Take call or standby as required by the department.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R).
- Completion of American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers.
- Strong analytical, clinical, and technical skills to operate specialized imaging equipment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to instruct and comfort patients.
- Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment.
- Physical stamina for frequent movement, lifting, and positioning of patients.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity for high-quality image production.
