Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with diagnostic tools, and the ability to work on various types of equipment including excavators, dozers, tile plows, semis, pickups, and directional drills. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently to support our operational needs.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, drills, plows, semis, pickups, and tractors.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues using schematics and OEM manuals.
- Repair or replace faulty components including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and air brake systems.
- Conduct welding, fabrication, and assembly work as needed for equipment repairs or modifications.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Perform tire service, alignments, and heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment or upgrades to existing machinery.
- Ensure all repairs comply with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment repair; dealership experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Caterpillar, OEM parts, and diesel engine repair.
- Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams.
- Ability to perform welding, HVAC repairs, and alignment procedures.
- Proficiency with vehicle maintenance including transmissions and suspension systems.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Ability to lift heavy components safely; physical strength required for heavy lifting tasks.

Pay: $ $50.00 per hour
