Job Description
Apex is seeking an Electrical Engineering Summer Associate. We hire summer associates that are passionate about sustainable clean energy.
Responsibilities:
- Support the engineering, design, and construction of renewable energy projects
- Assist with electrical design layout and drawings for wind, solar, and storage projects
- Assist with electrical modeling wind, solar, and storage projects
- Assist with editing project contractual documents and technical exhibits
- Support communications with key project stakeholders
- Support building out new analytical tools for site modeling and optimization
- Support construction submittal reviews and responses for on-going projects
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate student studying electrical engineering
- Knowledge of project management concepts preferred
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others
- Course work or experience in the energy/power system industry; renewable energy experience is ideal
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- High proficiency with Excel
- Experience with ETAP, PSSE, or PSCAD is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Expected graduation date in December 2026 or May 2027

- The summer associate program will run from June 1 through August 7 but we can be flexible with the start and end dates
- Hours: Full Time
- Type: Non-Exempt
- Paid Internship: Undergraduate, $17/Hour; Graduate, $27/Hour
- Office Location: Our Charlottesville, VA headquarters
