Since 2014, Apex Behavioral Services has actively filled a need in Indiana. We primarily serve intellectually disabled and developmentally disabled residents in the southern region of the state. Apex Behavioral Services is currently hiring for a Program Director. The primary purpose of a Program Director is to be responsible for your assigned clients and provide support and resources for residential services and the supervision, orientation and ongoing training of high-quality staff.

Staff Management and Development Responsibilities

Effectively hires, assigns, directs staff

Effectively counsel and discipline staff

Promotes cooperation and team work among staff; establishes high standards of conduct and job performance for subordinates; delegates work; leads by example.

Ensures that job descriptions are developed, and that regular performance evaluations are held and documented.

Provides training to encourage competency and skill development.

Through personal performance, instills the feelings of trust, dependability and stable work environment to encourage staff productivity.

Prioritizes staff tasks, as necessary, to ensure timely completion.

Assures decisions made by staff reflect the organization's goals, procedures and are in harmony with the strategic plan.

Builds staff cohesiveness and pride.

Fosters good communication.

Shares success and rewards.

Manages conflict as required.

Consumer Care

Coordination and management of the overall operations and medical, financial and maintenance aspects of an individual's home.

Implementation of individual support plans and Apex policies and procedures, assessing the needs of an individual on a continual basis.

Communicating with interdisciplinary team members that may include case managers, day service representatives, family or legal guardians

Have a working knowledge of individuals' current medical conditions and overseeing health care coordination.

Maintaining schedules for multiple sites and completing and submitting payroll information in a timely manner.

Ensuring all required documentation, reports and other paperwork are completed in an accurate and timely manner

Specific Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age per state requirements.

Must have bachelor’s degree or 5 years relevant experience Must have CPR and First Aid certifications or be able to attend Apex training sessions.

Must attend Apex Behavioral Services training sessions annually.

Be free from communicable diseases as evidenced by an annual negative TB test or unremarkable chest x-ray.

Must have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with clients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.

Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.

Must not have been convicted of a sex crime, exploitation of an endangered adult, failure to report battery, neglect or exploitation of an endangered adult or abuse, neglect of a child, theft, murder, voluntary or involuntary manslaughter, felony battery, or a felony offense relating to a controlled substance.

Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult individuals.

Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices
