Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work directly with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, to implement behavioral therapy plans and support positive growth. This role involves collecting data, assisting with assessments, and providing patient-centered care within a supportive clinical environment. The Behavior Technician plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for clients through evidence-based interventions and compassionate support.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavioral therapy programs based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles under supervision.
- Collect and record data accurately during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments.
- Assist with patient assessments, including intake procedures and diagnostic evaluations.
- Support patients with developmental disabilities, including autism, by providing patient care that promotes engagement and learning.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Collaborate with supervisors, clinicians, and families to ensure consistency in treatment delivery.
- Document medical records, progress notes, and other relevant information precisely and timely.
- Participate in ongoing training related to behavioral health, special education, and medical terminology to enhance service quality.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, especially Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Experience in data collection, patient assessment, or diagnostic evaluation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and medical terminology is a plus.
- Previous experience working in special education or behavioral health settings will be considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams are essential.
