What kind of job is this?

Full-time. We are a growing company and need key people in the right places.

Who are we?

If you have seen the movie Iron Man it portrayed a key commonality to our business: a luxury home that was decked out with the kind of technology that would blow your mind if that technology existed in real life.

What was fiction is rapidly becoming real life. Consumer technology and smart home systems are evolving at a rapid pace, which means homes being built or renovated today and in the coming years are going to look more and more like those homes in the movies.

At Apex Audio/Video, we set out with a clear mission - To provide white glove customer care in the custom electronics industry by installing the best products with the highest quality workmanship. Our desire for the maximum quality of customer care extends beyond our clients- we want to be able to ensure growth opportunities for our team and business as well!

We started out as 2 individuals with a shared love of technology, and ultimately joined forces to create something we couldn’t find. We wanted to create more than a successful company, but rather an environment where unmatched talent was fully supported to create unmatched results.

What would a typical day look like?

As an Installer at our company, you’ll spend your time working in homes and businesses installing and integrating the latest in A/V and other automation technology.

Here’s how a typical week might look:

  • On Monday, you might find yourself pulling wire at a residential home under construction
  • On Tuesday, you may be hanging televisions and mounting projectors in conference rooms for a commercial business
  • On Wednesdays, you may be tuning an ultra-luxury theater room so the client gets the best Dolby Atmos has to offer
  • On Thursday we may be going to a go cart track (while getting paid) on a company sponsored recreation day, don’t expect this every Thursday as we try to do this twice a year
  • You may end your week on Friday doing a few onsite visits to provide troubleshooting for existing client systems that couldn’t be resolved remotely.

At a more granular level, your days will consist of the following:

  • Installation of audio/visual, basic networking, and automation equipment in residential and commercial locations
  • Running low voltage wiring during construction
  • Installing TV’s, speakers, receivers, and much more
  • Interpreting engineering schematics
  • Terminating head-end system components

  • Basic troubleshooting of audio, visual, and automation equipment.

Whether you’re doing installation or service, you’ll provide detailed documentation of your work so that anyone on the team can pick up where you left off.

If we’re lucky, your daily work will be planned and structured. However, priorities can shift at a moment’s notice. You must be comfortable with shifting focus and willing to be an active participant in juggling multiple demands.

When the client is ready to use their technology for the first time, you’ll train them and answer all their questions. You will always be expected to treat our clients and your colleagues with patience and friendliness no matter how big or small their issue. Client service is one of our core values so it is of the utmost importance that you serve as a helping hand in moments of need.

What should you bring to the table?

  • Don’t have direct industry experience? We’re willing to consider a rockstar with a background in construction, electrical, and other related fields.
  • Knowledge of residential systems integration including audio/video, lighting, shades, climate control, security, CCTV, telephone and networks.
