Groundkeeper / Maintenance Assistant

Pay & Benefits

Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Groundkeeper / Maintenance Assistant to help maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of the property. This position will be responsible for pool cleaning, trash and litter removal, grounds upkeep, and assisting maintenance staff with general property maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain swimming pool areas according to established procedures.
- Remove trash, litter, and debris from the property and common areas.
- Keep sidewalks, parking areas, entrances, and outdoor areas clean and presentable.
- Assist with general groundskeeping and property cleanup.
- Assist maintenance staff with routine maintenance and repair tasks.
- Help move equipment, furniture, supplies, and maintenance materials as needed.
- Assist with preparing apartments/units and common areas for maintenance or turnover work.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, property damage, or equipment problems to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Help maintain maintenance tools, equipment, storage areas, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Assist with seasonal property maintenance, including outdoor cleanup and preparation.
- Follow all property safety procedures and proper handling procedures for cleaning products and equipment.
- Perform other groundskeeping, cleaning, and maintenance-assistance duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous groundskeeping, janitorial, pool, landscaping, or maintenance experience.
- Previous apartment/property maintenance experience is a plus.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to safely use basic hand tools and maintenance equipment.
- Knowledge of pool chemicals and cleaning products
- Good attention to detail and ability to keep the property clean and presentable.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as with a maintenance team.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to perform physical work, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and climbing as required.
- Pool maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, OSHA, or other relevant maintenance certifications required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Work Environment
This position involves working both indoors and outdoors and may require exposure to heat, cold, rain, cleaning products, pool chemicals, and other routine property-maintenance conditions. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety procedures must be followed at all times.
